Call for Papers
Computer Science & I.T Research
Students' Conference (CRSC'07)
First Call for Papers 6th December, 2007 RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia http://pgconf.cs.rmit.edu.au/ The School of Computer Science and Information Technology at RMIT University holds a postgraduate research students' conference each year. The aims of the conference are multi-fold:
It is School policy that all research students give a talk on their research activities during the recent academic year. Participation in the conference will be considered when the School scholarships and top-ups are reviewed. The talk should be on a selected aspect of student research which would be of interest to others. It takes around 15 minutes and should not try to cover all of the thesis area, nor all the work that has been done in previous years. PapersAll research students in the School of Computer Science and Information Technology at RMIT are expected to provide a paper to the conference. New students (those who have started a higher degree by research this year) are expected to provide an extended abstract that describes the motivation, goals and, optionally, the results of the work done to date. Research students who commenced their higher degree last year or earlier are expected to provide a full paper describing some of their research outcomes to date. It is acceptable to use a paper that has been submitted or presented elsewhere. You are encouraged to use LaTeX in the preparation of papers and extended abstracts, although this is not a requirement. A style file and an example paper are available from the conference home page. If you are reusing an existing paper, you can use existing formatting. Papers in PDF format and a short abstract (about 200 words) must be submitted using the web interface on the conference home page. ProceedingsThe proceedings of the conference will be available on the conference web site. AwardsThree awards will be presented at the end of the conference:
Students who commenced their degrees during 2007 are eligible for the Best First Year Student Paper award. The Best Presentation award will be judged by the audience by means of feedback forms and all scores will be averaged. Both new work and previous work is eligible for the best paper awards. RegistrationPersons intending to present a talk or attend the conference must register using the form available from the conference web page.
